Head Coach Eric Sciutto

Coach Sciutto grew up in the Hudson Valley, attending Saugerties High School. After High School he wrestled for four years at SUNY Cortland while earning his Bachelors and Masters Degrees. He returned to the Cortland program as an Assistant Coach after graduating. He has held Assistant Coaching positions at Middletown High School, Saugerties High School and Queens Grant High School. He was the Head Coach at East Mecklenburg HighSchool in North Carolina before becoming the Head Coach at FDR High School in 2022. He is currently a Physical Education Teacher at Ralph R. Smith Elementary School in the Hyde Park Central School District.

Girls Head Coach Jim Sheehan

Coach Sheehan began coaching baseball and basketball at the youth level in Red Hook from 1991-2000. He started coaching wrestling in Red Hook, NY, in 1998 in the modified program and coached the youth (pee wee) program at Red Hook from 1998-2015. In 2005, he was recruited to officiate and was a wrestling official until 2017. The FDR wrestling program was resurrected in 2017 with a modified team, and in 2018 a JV program was added and led by Coach Sheehan. Coach Sheehan has been coaching the varsity team since its return in 2019. As the program continues to grow, Coach Sheehan has been been named Head Coach of FDR’s first Girl’s Wrestling team.
